The news and employment data tell us that jobs are plentiful. Yet, many Milwaukee residents are not able to find and sustain meaningful employment. It seems that the solution should be simple – connect the people to job openings – but, there are barriers that make this impossible.
Our partners are committed to helping young adults explore career options and learn workplace basics; assisting individuals gain the skills they need to secure family sustaining jobs; and stimulating the vitality of the inner city by supporting entrepreneurship. Our current Employment strategies include:
- Employment Preparation;
- Employment Advancement;
- Small Business/Entrepreneurial Support for Job Creation.
Here are some examples of the metrics we use to measure success in Employment:
- Program curriculum addresses barriers to employment;
- Higher paying job or increased income;
- Job creation.
